Hope, Change and Taxes

I'm not trying to jump on the bandwagon but does anyone else think it sadly humorous that 3 of Obama's nominees have had tax problems? Can anyone say "politics as usual"? Daschle only had a $128,000 tax deficiency. WHAT? Most people in this country would like to make that much in a year so how much income did he have to owe that much?

To Obama's credit, he owned up to messing up but if it's change we can believe in, he's certainly off to a shaky start in changing anything and getting us to believe it.

I still wonder how much money Michael Phelps lost for taking his bong hit?

As you can see, I don't have much to blog about. I've actually written two blogs recently and ended up deleting them because they were got to be very long. I'm not keeping up with the Mavs but am aware that spring training is just around the corner. One of these days I hope I can go to Arizona for spring practice.

Friday night is Pack the House night for the Decatur vs. Bridgeport basketball games at DHS. The girls cross country team is getting their state championship rings and there's a hamburger supper benefit for the Lunt family. Come on out, eat and cheer on the Eagles.

I'm wondering how these nominees could think such things will not be discovered? Why would they put themselves up for such scrutiny -- knowing the skeletons? Is this simply evidence of how they think they are above the law?
